PLARNING

Our plarning group meets every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at the church. The group is open to anyone interested in helping the homeless. Plarning is a little hard to describe but basically it is converting plastic shopping bags into 3’x6’mats. These mats are then given to the homeless to make sleeping outside a bit more comfortable. This ministry is so much more that just making mats. These mats are blessed and the recipients hopefully feel the love and caring that are put into these mats. No prior skills required just a willingness to learn

The plarning group recently provided 17 mats to three organizations: Bethany House /Piqua, St. Pat’s Kitchen/Troy,  East Dayton Church of Brethren, St John’s Lutheran/Dayton

CLOTHESLINE

Good Shepherd is honored to participate with a number of area churches in making available new or gently used clothing to individuals in need. Our members volunteer their time to sort, price, and hang donated clothing. They also man the store when the clothing is made available to the public. The clothing is offered at very low prices and all proceeds go to support other church ministries. The shop is located in Tipp City and all are welcome to come shop. New and gently used cloth donations are always welcome

MUSIC

In addition to having a regular choir that sings during Sunday morning services, Good Shepherd is well-known in the community for its annual Christmas Concert. A long-standing community tradition, our Music Director, Marsha Fischbach, does a marvelous job of putting together a program of religious and secular music that has delighted audiences for better than 25 years. Rehearsals begin in October. Anyone from the community may participate. The only requirement to join is a love of singing.

SENIOR SHEPHERDS

The Senior Shepherds are a group of retired members who get together monthly for fellowship and mission. They participate in volunteer ministries, educational and entertainment programs and “fun” activities. If you have some free time and would like to join we would love to have you!

…AND SO MUCH MORE!

Our members are active at church and in the community. If you have time and talents to share we can help you find a great use for them.

MUCC- We are a member of Milton Union Council of Churches. This is a coming together of 15 area churches to serve our community. Good Shepherd is the distribution location for “Christmas Food Baskets” and “Back to School” supplies. We support in the JTI weekend camp as well as our local FISH and Cropwalk.

Lifewise Academy - Our community and our church are blessed to be a part of this program. Lifewise is a bible study program that is made available during the school day to children in Kindergarten thru 6th grade. It combines non denominational Christian education with strong character building traits.

The ways you can get involved are numerous and varied!
